Five Ways to Have Dry Skin Care

Dry skin care involves thorough care, watching your habits, keeping to a specific washing and moisturising regimen, and inspecting labels of products to stay free of possible irritants and to get more moisture for your skin. Remember that skin care for dry skin types have more moisturizing needs than other skin types. Try the following dry skincare tips.

1. Choose products that offer more moisturising treatment for your skin. Don’t use products that contain petroleum, which do not moisturise well. Dry skin care products with natural hypoallergenic ingredients are better. Pat your skin using organic skin care products like virgin coconut oil, after a shower. These contain vitamins (A, C, D, and E) and protein that nourish your skin.

2. Don’t use tap water, for it contains fluoride, chlorine, and other chemicals. As an alternative, use mineral water that’s cold. When using solutions for your skin, avoid those with alcohol in them. These would be the less advertised natural dry skin care products that won’t irritate your skin. They remove impurities accumulated everyday, including make up, and they clean out pores leaving dry skin with a clean and soft feeling.

3. Taking too long in the shower isn’t good. That’s because the water in the shower is just more tap water. Healthy skin care involves avoiding irritants, so just three minutes in the shower is fine. Mild soap, a dry skin product, is good for soft-scrubbing and for use every other day. Scrubbing too hard isn’t good. A mild oatmeal soap used once a week gently exfoliates, without irritating, your skin. Right after you shower, pat dry.

4. About those itchy spots. Sometimes you notice itchy spots on your skin and scalp. If you do notice them, don’t scratch. Part of good dry skin treatment is applying some shea butter on those areas, and not letting water splash on them. Dry skin, take note, is vulnerable to the elements in the product ingredients and the environment. So just to be safe, add in your meals some organic butter, coconut oil, and fresh water fish.

5. Buy a reliable humidifier. A humidifier provides additional moisture in the area where you stay the most, and augments your dry skin care habits and regimen. Because any place devoid of moisture is bad for you skin.

Using natural products is also good for dry skin care. Try some plain vitamin E oil, available at most pharmacies and retail stores. This oil is usually very thick and so the skin can absorb it over time and it works very well under makeup. Using natural products also means less irritation to your face which is very important for dry skin care. When the face is irritated it uses up what natural oils it may have resulting in even worse dry skin.
