The ABCs Facial Skin Care
Proper facial skin care will keep your skin healthy, glowing and young-looking for years and years. Skin care regimens can be simple. You don’t have to spend hours on complicated routines or invest a fortune on facial skin care products to take care of your skin. All it really takes is to make sure that your skin is properly cleansed, moisturized, and protected.
You will need a cleanser, a moisturiser, and a sun screen. You also need to know your skin type. The type of facial skin care products you need to use depends on what type of skin you have. You must first determine if have oily, normal, combination, dry, sensitive or sun-damaged skin. Then select the products that are suitable for your skin type.
Dirt, dead skin cells, excess oil, and the residue of substances applied to the skin such as cosmetics form a grimy deposit on the surface of the skin. This deposit fosters the development of harmful microorganisms and will eventually lead to infection and disease. Cleansing, the fundamental and most essential aspect of facial skin care, removes this grimy deposit from the skin. It should be done twice a day: in the morning and in the evening.
A cleanser that’s strong enough to remove dirt and excess oil yet mild enough not to dry out the skin is ideal. Splash your face first with warm water; warm water opens pores and makes skin easier to cleanse. Then lather on the right amount of cleanser. Use cool water to rinse off the cleanser; cool water will close your pores. If you wear makeup, it is best to remove it first using a gentle make up remover.
All types of skin need to be moisturized, even oily skin. Moisturising keeps the skin from becoming dry and rough by protecting it from damage and replenishing its natural elements. A moisturiser that doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky and oily yet has enough lubricants to keep skin smooth and soft is ideal. Choose one that is just right for your skin.
The sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause damage to the skin such as sunburn, wrinkles, and age spots, and is the primary cause of skin cancer. You should protect your skin from too much exposure to ultraviolet rays. You can do this by staying in the shade whenever possible, and by using scarves, visors, hats, and parasols. Moisturizers that contain sun screen should be used during the daytime.
Handling that could damage the skin’s structure, such as pulling down or overstretching and hard rubbing or scrubbing motions, should be avoided. Skin is delicate and should be handled with care. Use upward, circular motions when applying facial skin care products such as cleansers, moisturisers, and cosmetics. This manner of handling will minimize damage and promote good circulation for healthier skin.
Again, there’s no need to go to great expense in terms of money and time to have great-looking skin. Uncomplicated and proper facial skin care following the dictates of common sense will keep your skin healthy and beautiful.
