The Benefits of Kundalini Yoga Meditation

There are a number of different yoga styles and one of them is Kundalini yoga meditation. Kundalini yoga uses the elements of breathing, moving, stretching meditation, relaxation, meditation, sound and rhythm together. It is one of the most powerful forms of yoga that you can practice, and classes usually entail spine and flexibility warm-ups.

The term Kundalini actually is from the Sanskrit, meaning coiled-up, and refers to a latent force in us which is considered as being the catalyst for all forms of self-healing and higher cognition. Kundalini yoga allows everyone to tap into this latent energy to use its benefits.

Breathe in Kundalini Yoga

Breathing is a particularly important aspect in Kundalini yoga meditation, and each exercise has a specific breath which is associated with it. The Breath of Fire or Maha Agni Pranayam is a fast and rhythmic breathing exercise that has been said to create optimal brain wave balances and through this energy, benefits all of the systems and organs of the body through its rapid motions and puts enough oxygen in the body in a minute that would have taken an hour.

Mantra

An incredibly important part of Kundalini yoga is the aspect of mantra, which raises the frequency of energy in the body and improves the self-healing process. By reaching a specific tone in a grouping of sounds or in a single sound you can encourage relaxation and breathing exercises overall.

It is important to remember that Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga which has a purpose of gaining strength and self-confidence through breathing and meditation techniques, and here students are encouraged to tune in to their bodies and find the Kundalini energy within themselves that they harness but which they most likely are not yet aware of. The balanced development of Kundalini yoga is slow, but graceful, yielding benefits over time.

As it is one of the more gentle forms of yoga, Kundalini yoga is a very popular choice among beginners looking to be introduced to the exercise of yoga.
